We have been working with Maplewood since 2010, and this year marks our post 2020 return. We are excited to be back! Lessons are a lot of fun, and they are a great way to get started on instrument learning. Right around the corner from Maplewood is Cherrywood Coffee House, and all Maplewood students are welcome to join members of the Groundwork Music Orchestra on that stage.
Lessons include ukulele play, singing, note reading, and lots of fun songs that kids love to play.
Our JHUI-certified teachers (James Hill Ukulele Initiative) have a depth of teaching knowledge and musical knowledge that helps children to develop both skill and a love of musical activity.
Look for information on our big Spring Concert, as well as monthly play-along events at Cherrywood Coffee House (second Sunday of every month).

This program is for children aged 8 to 12. It is a twelve week program for beginner students. Total cost is $350. We welcome both returning students and new students to this program. Please email us at admin@groundworkmusic.org, if you want to find out about sliding scale/scholarship options.

Our mission is to provide free and low cost music lessons to young children regardless of means. Through our programs, children learn to sing, dance, keep a beat, carry a tune, play an instrument, create arrangements, perform for an audience, and collaborate on a creative endeavor.
